Camp Fire's Wine Benefit

Camp Fire USA Minnesota Council is excited to announce their fourth annual wine tasting benefit; Thursday, September 29 at the Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis. Mpls.St.Paul Magazine wine writer Bill Coy will guide us through this year’s theme Tomorrow’s Best, Uncorked as we taste some of the most exciting up-and-coming wines from across the globe. Each wine is paired with delicious appetizers that satisfy and delight. As always the evening will include live entertainment, a unique silent auction, and raise valuable funds to support one of Minnesota’s longest-operating youth development nonprofits.

Join us for this incredible evening which supports our Camp Fire programs at Camp Tanadoona in Excelsior and our after-school programs across the metro area.

Special Guest: Dessa

Camp Fire is honored than one of Minnesota's most gifted rising stars will give the official toast at this year's benefit. Dessa is a Minneapolis-based essayist and musical artist with a national following. She's an artist with a fertile imagination, an agile sense of humor, and a literary sensibility. She has made a name for herself in the worlds of music, literature, and business. Dessa is a perfect fit for this year's theme, Tomorrow's Best, and we look forward to her toast September 29.

Dessa's first book, Spiral Bound, was received as a "dazzling literary debut" by City Pages. Her most recent album, A Badly Broken Code, was enthusiastically received by NPR, the Chicago Tribune, and URB. Her newest recording project, Castor, The Twin is available from Doomtree Records on October 4th, 2011.

Recently, Dessa was named Artist in Residence at the McNally Smith College of Music. She'll be lecturing on campus, sharing the knowledge and experience she's gained as a songwriter, a touring musician, and the CEO of an independent music label.
