Hello Tanadoona friends and families!
Greetings from Violet/Tara!
First, I just wanted to update you about camp. Sam Peterson has left Camp Fire to pursue other endeavors. We wish him well and good luck with the future. With his departure, we as a team have decided it would be a great fit for me to resume the post of full-time Outdoor Programs Director at Camp Tanadoona.
Although I said good-bye to many of you this past summer, I have stayed on as a camp consultant, so I'm up to speed and ready to make this our best summer yet! This summer will be my third summer working with the amazing staff, campers and families of Camp Tanadoona.
This year also marks Camp Fire USA's centennial, and we're excited to celebrate on June 3rd, 6:30-8:30 PM at Camp Tanadoona. The Centennial celebration event will be an evening you won't want to miss, with great speakers, local dignitaries, youth voices and more. Camping has always been at the forefront of our mission to build, caring, confident youth and future leaders. I am honored and excited to be a part of another great summer experience on the shores of Lake Minnewashta.
We have some returning staff already on board for camp, and we are lining up some great new counselors as well to ensure there will be many smiles and laughs throughout the summer. I look forward to meeting the needs of our families by providing a program for four-year-olds to get a taste of the Tanadoona experience.
The Giant Swing will be back this summer, and there will, of course, be lots of swimming, canoeing, nature exploration, grape toss competitions, archery, gold rush and many more of the activities that make Tanadoona a great place to spend your summer.
